When work throws you curveballs

Running a business is a constant lesson in unpredictability. No two workdays are ever the same, and last week was the perfect example of just how much things can swing from one extreme to another.

At the start of the week, everything seemed to click. There was a burst of energy and focus, I felt fully in control, tackling tasks with clarity and enthusiasm. Those first few days set a great tone, fueling a sense of momentum that I hoped would carry me forward.

But as the week progressed, the usual challenges crept in. My motivation waned, priorities shifted, and progress slowed down. The end of the week brought a noticeable decrease. Fewer wins, more distractions, and that persistent feeling that there just wasn’t enough time or drive to make real progress.

Over the weekend, I shifted gears to a maintenance mode. I focused on the essentials. getting the core tasks done without pushing myself beyond what was manageable. Sometimes, simply keeping things steady is more than enough. It’s important to recognize those moments when survival, not growth, is the true success.

Then came Monday, bringing an unexpected upswing. Tasks that had been stalled suddenly moved forward. Proposals received green lights, approvals rolled in, and there was a sense of accomplishment as loose ends were tied up. That boost of positivity was both refreshing and inspiring, reminding me that even after a tough stretch, things can turn around quickly.

The real test, of course, is keeping that positive energy alive throughout the week. Consistency is elusive, but celebrating these small victories can help build resilience for whatever comes next.

Wishing everyone, and myself, a truly productive Monday and a successful week ahead!

Some Sundays move at their own slow pace, and yesterday was one of them. I went into the weekend feeling excited to refactor a piece of code that’s been bothering me for weeks.
