Day 1 of 31: Going All In on Our SaaS
Jan 1, 2026 (1/31 Days)
Happy New Year
Nothing fancy from my side this year. Just one simple goal, 31 days. This month is going to decide how the rest of the year goes for me.
Every year, like most people, I make a list of resolutions. Some years I hit most of them, some years I only hit a few. This time, January is the only thing I care about.
A bit of backstory
I’ve been a technical founder for over 8 years now. Service based business on one side, while a bootstrapped SaaS product slowly developing in the background.
The service side runs smoothly. The SaaS journey? That’s been messy. Deadlines set, deadlines missed. When you’re bootstrapped, you end up prioritising survival, payroll, clients, keeping the lights on.
Last year, I decided to go all in on the product. We didn’t hit the final big goal on time, but we got close: private beta went live. That “almost there” feeling is both motivating and frustrating.
The technical founder problem
I’m a tech person first. I struggle to “just sell” something when I know things under the hood aren’t where they should be.
From the outside, the platform works. Features work. Users can do what they’re supposed to do. But I can see the parts of the code, infrastructure, and internal logic that need to be cleaner, faster, better.
I know, this is not the “perfect founder mindset” you read about in books. But it is what it is. If I know it’s broken, I can’t pretend it’s fine and sleep peacefully.
The 31-day challenge
So here’s the deal I made with myself.
For all of January, I’m going fully hands on. No half measures. Every day, I’ll push the product closer to the standard where I’m genuinely happy bringing in public users.
I know it’s going to cost me in daily routine, personal time, and probably family time too. But I owe it to myself, to the business, to the product we’ve been building for years, and even to my family who has been putting up with this journey for so long.
I need to make this work.
Signing off for Day 1.
